Banksia Scout Group Leaders

Male and female 18 plus.

Scouting does not end after Rovers.

All adult members hold a current "Blue Card" issued by the Queensland Government, and must adhere to the "Code of Conduct" for Adults in Scouting in Queensland (available from the Group Leader).

Scout Leaders are volunteers from the community, often the parents of Scout-age children, who have an interest in developing young people's potential. Leaders are put through a rigorous selection and training process.

All potential Leaders are given full police and referee checks, then supervised and trained fully before they are able to work with young people on their own.

Leaders and helpers are always welcome and required for all sections at Banksia Scout Group. Prior experience is not necessary, and full training is provided as appropriate to the age group leaders are interested in.

The rewards to Scouting leadership are lasting and truly beneficial as you help guide young members along a memorable path which will lead them to become valued citizens in the community.

Leaders have the opportunity to take part in all the activities with the youth members.

Leader training is provided by Scouts Australia Queensland Branch, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Leaders in the Scouting movement have the opportunity to achieve a number of industry recognised qualifications as a result of the training provided. Qualifications include:

  • Certificate III in Business (Front-Line Management)

  • Certificate IV in Business (Front-Line Management)

  • Diploma of Business (Front-Line Management)
